Data policy

This policy describes the information we process to reinforce the business enterprises and ethics of Qsnap and its subsidiaries (Qsnap Social Marketing Media).

The information we collect

To provide the Qsnap products, we must process and analyse information about you. The types of information we collect depend on how you use our product.

What you provide:

• content ­— we collect this, and other information you provide, when you use our products, including when you sign up for an account, create or share your details with others. This can include information in or about the content you provide (like metadata), such as the location of a photo, or the date a file was created. Our systems will collect data on where interactions take place and the volume of interactions in a geographical area. Our systems will also compile demographic data for analysis and marketing purposes
• ethnic and religious data — we do not ask you to provide any type of religious or ethnic data, apart from country of origin or settlement
• your contacts — we collect contact information if you choose to import it from your own device (such as an address book contacts)
• how you utilise our products — we collect information about how you use our products, such as the time, frequency, and duration of your activities. For example, how often you are sharing a QR code and where and when you are doing it.

Information provided by using our product on your phone

We use information collected about your use of our products on your phone to better personalise the content (including advertising and marketing).

Information we obtain from these devices includes: 

• data from device settings — information you allow us to receive through device settings you turn on, such as access to your GPS location for locating data exchange points and marketing of such related
• network and connections — information, such as the name of your mobile operator or ISP, language, time zone, and mobile phone number
• how you help us to improve — we use the information we have to develop, test and improve our products, including by conducting surveys and research and testing and troubleshooting new products and features
• face recognition — if we introduce face-recognition technology to your Qsnap experience, we will let you know first, and you will have control over whether we use this technology for you
• Ads and other sponsored content — we use the information we have about you, including demographic information, to select and personalise ads, offers and other sponsored content that we show you.

Advertising analytics

We use the information we have (including your activity with our products) to help advertisers measure the effectiveness and distribution of their ads and understand the types of people who use their services and how people interact with them, their websites and apps.

How we verify You

We use the information, such as your registered email that you submit, to verify your authenticity and keep your account secure should you forget access details.

How we communicate with you

We use the information we have to send you marketing communications, update you about our products, and let you know about our terms and policies. We also use your information to respond to you when you contact us.

Information we share

Partners and analytics services

We provide aggregated statistics and insights that help people and businesses understand how people are engaging with our product in order to improve product services and user experience. We share information about you with companies that aggregate it to provide analytics and measurement reports to our partners.

Advertisers

We provide advertisers with reports about the kinds of people seeing their ads and how their ads are performing, but we do not share information that personally identifies you (such as your name or email address) unless you give us permission. We provide general demographic and interest information to advertisers (for example, an ad was seen by a man between the ages of 35 and 45 who lives in Dubai) to help them better understand their audience.

Law enforcement or legal requests

We share information with law enforcement, or in response to legal requests, when official court orders are submitted related to the boundary of the account origin.

In response to a legal request (like a search warrant, court order or subpoena) if we have  good faith that the law requires us to do so.

Can I delete my information, and how long will you store it?

We store data until your account is deleted. From the date of account deletion, your data will be completely wiped within 30 days until such time conditions of this document apply.

Policy changes and how we notify you

We'll notify you before we make changes to this policy and give you the opportunity to review the revised policy before you choose to continue using our products.
